My First Edited Video
During the last couple of years I discovered video editing. It became an enjoyable way to share travel experiences with friends. My first video "At Armslength" was inspired by a popular youtube video "Where the hell is Matt" of this guy doing a little jig at spots all over the planet. I used my collection of self taken photos showing me all around the world and some interesting moments in life. I put the video together on a flight home from Bolivia. It served as a time of reflection on life and relationships that lead to the decision to propose to my then ex-girlfriend Ahmeda.
Within about 8 weeks I renewed the relationship and we were engaged in Istanbul Turkey. It's kind of fitting that making a video was part of my process, because she has become the common thread through most of the videos I have made.
The music for the video is Tribe Called Quest's "Push it along", the first song off of the 3rd album I purchased in my life, Preceeded by U2 "Joshua Tree", and De La Soul's "3 feet high and rising". Quest just seemed most appropriate.
